In a Tucson Summer, Comfort Helps Sell the Home
As we’ve been holding open houses throughout the Tucson area, we’ve noticed something that can make an immediate difference in how buyers experience a home.
Sometimes we arrive to find the air conditioning set too high and all the ceiling fans turned off. One of the first things we do is adjust the thermostat and turn on the fans. Within a short time, the entire house feels more comfortable and welcoming.
When buyers step inside from the Tucson heat, they should feel relief—not wonder whether the air-conditioning system is working properly. If a home feels hot or stuffy, buyers may rush through the showing instead of slowing down and imagining themselves living there.
Before a showing or open house, we recommend:
- Setting the thermostat to a comfortably cool temperature
- Turning on ceiling fans to circulate the air
- Closing blinds that receive strong afternoon sun
- Leaving other window coverings open for natural light
- Replacing the HVAC filter and keeping service records available
- Leaving a few cold bottles of water as a thoughtful touch
You don’t need to turn your home into an icebox. The goal is simply to make it comfortable enough that buyers will linger, look around and feel at home.
